Real Patients, Real Results: Their Radiotherapy Skincare Stories

At Radiaderm, nothing speaks louder than the voices of those who have experienced our products first-hand.

We are so  proud to support radiotherapy patients throughout their journey and are honoured to share their stories and feedback.

Julie's Story

I am very pleased to have the opportunity to give feedback on Radiaderm because it has and is the only product that has effectively addressed adverse skin reactions that were threatening to erupt very early on in my radiotherapy sessions.

Many professionals and friends had encouraged the use of cream well before the start of radiotherapy but no health professional would recommend a product because they were following latest NHS/health trust advice. The cream I started using 3 weeks prior to radiotherapy (E45) quickly proved to be ineffective so I switched to Aveeno, as suggested by a friend. This was better but not totally effective. I was recommended Radiaderm by someone who had used this product.

I finished radiotherapy 8 days ago and have been successfully using radiaderm from around day 8 of 15 daily sessions of radiotherapy which lasted between 20 minutes to 30 minutes each day. The area covered was breast, collar bone, chest and lymph; a large area covering neck to waist, front, side and back. My skin is highly sensitive to the sun as I'm very fair so radiotherapy quickly affected it. It's also been a time of hot and sunny weather which hasn't helped despite fully covering up. Radiaderm very, very quickly stopped, stabilised and reversed the skin breakouts that were emerging. I can't tell you how grateful and appreciative I am for this product. I continue to use it four times a day and I can feel that my skin is really settling down now. I'll continue to use the product for another two weeks to make sure particularly as its still hot and sunny. If I'd had the opportunity to use radiaderm from the beginning I know I wouldn't have experienced any problems at all.

I used Radiaderm from day 1 of radiotherapy, it was very easy to understand the instructions and apply to my skin. I weas told by healthcare professionals that I may experience burns on my skin but R1 provided a cooling effect, as I applied it straight after every treatment. I applied the R2 lotion 3-4 times a day and for the two weeks after my radiotherapy was finished. I experienced no skin break down. Fabulous products, I have recommended them to fellow patients.

My husband completed his 6 and a half weeks of radiotherapy throughout January and February and using the lotions became part of our routine.
We're still dealing with the effects or the radiotherapy 3 months later, the hair loss, brain swelling, somnolence etc but I can honestly say that he had not one single burn or blister on his head at all!!
That really was one less thing to have to deal with.

Thank you so, so much

I used the product in January for breast cancer radiotherapy. I found the instructions easy to follow and the creams soothing. I didn't have any skin breakdown during radiotherapy (15 sessions) but did have redness as expected. The radiotherapy nurses hadn't heard of the product before so I bought it in to them so they could check they were happy for me to use it. Thank you!
